Job Title: Library and Literacy Mentor
Location: Brent, London
Job Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Pay rate: £90 - £100 per day

About the Role:

Are you a recent Literature graduate with a passion for reading and working with young children or someone who has prior experience working as a librarian?

We are seeking a Library and Literacy Mentor who is keen to shapes futures and creates opportunities. The school is determined for every one of their students to be an enthusiastic reader. If you love working with young people and want to inspire them with a passion for reading, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and supervising one of the school's two well-resourced libraries.
  • Leading library lessons - these lessons are popular with students before and after school, and at breaks and lunchtimes.
  • Take a leading role in facilitating and coordinating important interventions to improve our students' literacy.

About You:

  • Either a degree in a literature-related subject or experience working in a library/leading English interventions.
  • Passionate: A strong interest in education and a desire to inspire young people to have a love for reading.
  • Organised: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Communicative: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
  • Desirable: Previous experience working with young people, either in a teaching, tutoring, or mentoring capacity, would be advantageous but is not essential.

Full training on library systems will be given for the right candidate.
